Repetitive strain injuries
Osteopathy for Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSIs)
Repetitive strain injuries (RSIs) are common conditions caused by repeated use or overuse of specific muscle groups — often linked to work, sport, or daily activities.
Typical examples include:
Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis): Inflammation of the tendons on the outside of the elbow, often caused by repetitive arm and wrist movements.
Golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis): A less common condition affecting the tendons on the inside of the forearm.
Carpal tunnel syndrome: Caused by compression of the median nerve at the wrist, frequently associated with desk-based work, though other causes can also contribute.
Osteopathic treatment focuses on relieving pain, improving mobility, and supporting the function of the affected area. Your osteopath will use gentle manual techniques to ease muscular tension and support healing, while also helping to prevent further strain or mechanical issues in the future.
